Our class 47, D1705 (47117) was named 'Sparrowhawk' at Loughborough Central Station on Saturday 19th June 2004.

'Sparrowhawk' was the unofficial name the loco carried in service, having been given this name by staff at Tinsley depot.

D1705 was named by Mr Pete Waterman, the locomotive's former owner, with D1705 then proceeding to haul the 1.00pm, 3.45pm, 5.05pm and 7.00pm services. Our special thanks to Mr Waterman and all those who attended the ceremony!
